Why Alhazen
Named after a scholar whose book crossed from Iraq to Europe.
Ibn al-Haytham was born in Basra around 965. His Book of Optics was translated into Latin, and Europe knew him as Alhazen. A thousand years later, we are opening that route again for students.

Most programmes are privately funded, by the student or by the university. How much does it cost?كم تبلغ التكاليف؟
Most programmes are fee-paying, paid by you, your family or your university. Each programme publishes its full cost, and what it covers, before you apply.أغلب البرامج مدفوعة، تدفعها أنت أو عائلتك أو جامعتك. ويعلن كل برنامج تكلفته الكاملة وما تشمله قبل التقديم.
Can I get a scholarship?هل يمكنني الحصول على منحة؟
Sometimes. Some partners and programmes offer grants, such as Erasmus+, with their own competitive selection. We help you apply, but we cannot promise a scholarship.أحياناً. بعض الشركاء والبرامج تقدّم منحاً مثل إيراسموس+، باختيار تنافسي خاص بها. نساعدك في التقديم، لكن لا يمكننا أن نعدك بمنحة.

That means you do not have to wait for a scholarship call to send students abroad. Our missionرسالتنا
Every student at an Iraqi private university should be able to study in Europe and bring that knowledge home.ينبغي أن يتمكن كل طالب في جامعة عراقية أهلية من الدراسة في أوروبا والعودة بتلك المعرفة إلى الوطن.
Many private universities in Iraq still have no exchange partner in Europe. They have the will, but not the agreements, the staff time or the know-how to set up exchange programmes.كثير من الجامعات الأهلية في العراق لا تملك حتى الآن شريكاً للتبادل في أوروبا. لديها الرغبة، لكن تنقصها الاتفاقيات والوقت والخبرة لإنشاء برامج التبادل.
We are named after Ibn al-Haytham, the scholar from Basra whose Book of Optics crossed to Europe a thousand years ago.سُمّينا باسم ابن الهيثم، العالم البصري الذي عبر «كتاب المناظر» إلى أوروبا قبل ألف عام.

Only what you send us through the contact form: your name, email, institution, role or field of study, country and message. Our form provider delivers your message to us and our hosting provider serves this website. We never sell your data, and we share an applicant's details with a partner university only with their consent.يوصل مزوّد النماذج رسالتك إلينا، ويستضيف مزوّد الاستضافة هذا الموقع. لا نبيع بياناتك أبداً، ولا نشارك بيانات أي متقدم مع جامعة شريكة إلا بموافقته.
How long we keep itمدة الاحتفاظ بها
We keep enquiries for up to two years and then delete them, unless you become a partner or a participant.نحتفظ بالاستفسارات لمدة أقصاها سنتان ثم نحذفها، إلا إذا أصبحت شريكاً أو مشاركاً.
